The uppermost register bears the mint name, the central register is filled with a row of dots, and the lower register carries the sultan's name and titles in Arabic script. The legend reads 'Tarabulus / al-Malik al-Ashraf Sha'ban bin Hasan / Duriba,' identifying the issuer as Sultan al-Ashraf Sha'ban II and the mint as Tripoli. A small gnat or insect ornament is present within the design, a decorative element occasionally found on Mamluk fulus of this period. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse features a wheel or rosette design composed of eight curved spokes radiating from a central hub, arranged in a counter-clockwise direction, creating a swirling or pinwheel effect characteristic of Mamluk fulus coinage. Four globules are symmetrically placed in the spaces between the spokes, filling the field. The overall design is executed in a bold, stylized manner typical of hammered copper issues from the Mamluk Sultanate. The irregular flan results in slight variation in the completeness of the design near the coin's edges. |
