Obverse description Circular border composed of a line enclosed within a ring of dots. The field is tripartite, divided by two horizontal lines into a broad central band flanked by narrower upper and lower segments. The central band bears the Arabic royal titulature of the sultan in two lines, while the upper and lower segments are filled with arabesque foliate ornament typical of Mamluk decorative convention.
