Obverse lettering Clockwise circular legend: السلطان الملك الا شرف شعبان In the center: حسن بن
(Translation: The Sultan, King Ashraf Shaaban Hassan bin)
Reverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic inscription in relief denoting the mint name, characteristic of Mamluk provincial copper coinage struck at Damascus. The legends are arranged in horizontal lines within the field, with traces of marginal inscription visible along the rim. The flan is irregularly shaped and shows characteristic hammered production marks. Surface is heavily worn and porous, with partial legend visibility consistent with the low-denomination copper coinage of the Mamluk period.
