Obverse description Jugate bare heads of Augustus (right) and Agrippa (left) arranged back to back, with Agrippa wearing a combined rostral crown and laurel wreath — denoting his naval and military honours — while Augustus appears bare-headed. The effigies are rendered in profile, facing in opposite directions, a distinctive compositional device employed on the Nemausus coinage. The legend IMP DIVI F encircles the field, identifying Augustus as Imperator and son of the deified Julius Caesar.
