| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Mithridates I facing left, wearing the taenia (royal diadem) and displaying a medium-length beard rendered with fine, flowing strokes characteristic of early Parthian portraiture. The king is depicted in the Hellenistic tradition, with carefully modeled facial features and hair. The field is enclosed by a circular border of pellets (graining), typical of the Arsacid coinage of this period. |
