| Obverse description | Draped bust of Yazdgerd I facing right, wearing a distinctive mural crown surmounted by a korymbos — the characteristic Sasanian hair-bundle — set upon a crescent. The king's elaborate coiffure and beard are rendered in fine detail, with pearl-beaded diadem ties visible behind the neck. The effigy is contained within a double beaded border, the field largely plain. Inscriptional Pahlavi legends appear in the margin flanking the royal portrait. |

| Reverse description | A Zoroastrian fire altar depicted in the centre of the field, with flames rising from the altar table; two royal attendants stand facing inward on either side, each holding a staff or spear, serving as guardians of the sacred fire. Mint and regnal year inscriptions in Inscriptional Pahlavi appear in the outer margin and lateral fields. The design is enclosed within a double beaded border typical of late Sasanian coinage. |
