| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of Yazdgerd I in high relief, wearing the distinctive Sasanian royal crown surmounted by a korymbos (hair globe) and a crescent-and-orb finial, with large pendant earrings and a beaded torque visible at the neck. The king's beard is rendered in stylized, striated locks characteristic of early fifth-century Sasanian die engraving. A circular beaded border frames the entire design. The Inscriptional Pahlavi legend surrounds the effigy, reading the royal titulature of Yazdgerd I, King of Kings of Iran and non-Iran. |

| Reverse description | Central Zoroastrian fire altar with a stepped base depicted in high relief, the flames rising prominently from the altar top. Two attendant figures stand facing the altar on either side, each rendered in the traditional Sasanian style with elaborate headdresses and robes, holding implements associated with the fire cult. Crescents or additional symbols appear in the upper field flanking the flames. A short Inscriptional Pahlavi legend appears in the field, recording the mint abbreviation AWH. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
