正面描述 Draped bust of Yazdgard I facing right, wearing a close-fitting headdress surmounted by a globe from which small ribbons extend, with a crescent positioned beneath the globe; the headdress is adorned with ornamental points throughout, and the diadem consists of a single row of large pearls. The king's hair is rendered in tight curls, and he bears a beard and moustache; he wears an earring and a single-strand bead necklace. Ribbons with upward-curling ends issue from the king's right shoulder, and beneath the bust are six horizontal leaf ornaments, the whole framed by a pointed beaded rim.

附加信息

Yazdgard I ruled from 399 to 420 AD and earned the epithet "the Sinner" from Zoroastrian clergy, who despised his tolerant policies toward Christians and Jews — a hostility so entrenched that the priests reportedly celebrated his death. His reign nonetheless produced some of the most consistent coinage of the late Sasanian period, with mint output tightly controlled across provincial fire-temple workshops. The Göbl Type I/1 classification places this among his earliest issues, before the mint-signature system became more elaborate under his successors.
