| Obverse description | Bust of Yazdgard I facing right, portrayed in high relief with elaborately rendered curled beard and hair. The king wears a distinctive Sasanian crown surmounted by a globus and crescent, adorned with multiple rows of beaded ornamentation. Multiple strands of beaded necklaces are visible at the neck and shoulders, consistent with royal Sasanian regalia. The entire effigy is encircled by a raised beaded border within a plain linear rim. A Pahlavi legend identifying the ruler as 'King of Kings' flanks the bust in the field. |
