| Beschrijving keerzijde | A fire altar with billowing ribbons occupies the central field, flanked on either side by two robed attendants standing in attendance, each facing the altar in a symmetrical composition characteristic of Sasanian religious coinage. A Pahlavi inscription appears on the shaft of the altar. The fire altar motif is the quintessential reverse type of Sasanian drachms, symbolising the Zoroastrian sacred flame and royal legitimacy. |
