Obverse description Right-facing bust of Wahram IV in high relief, wearing a distinctive Sasanian mural crown surmounted by a korymbos (hair bundle encased in a globe), with long flowing hair adorned with clustered pellets falling behind the neck. The king is shown in royal regalia with a beaded necklace and armored shoulders visible at the truncation. A beaded inner border frames the design, with Pahlavi legends occupying the surrounding field identifying the king as the Mazda-worshipping lord of the Iranians.
