| Obverse description | Bust of Varhran V (Bahram V) facing right, wearing a distinctive royal crown adorned with two lateral wings or tines, a pearl diadem composed of large beads, a crescent, and globes surmounting the crown. Small bead-form ribbons flow from the globe, and additional ribbons fall from the right shoulder. The king's beard is tied in the Sasanian court fashion. The portrait is enclosed within a beaded border, with a Pahlavi inscription encircling the effigy in the field. |

Flanking the altar on either side stand two attendant figures, each wearing a crown adorned with globes and crescents and holding a long spear, rendered in the characteristic Sasanian guardian tradition. The composition is enclosed within the coin's field without additional legend on this type. |
