| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of Bahram IV (Varhran IV) in high relief, the king draped and wearing a distinctive close-fitting royal headdress surmounted by a single tooth, upswept wings with turned-up tips, and a globe with a pointed rim at the crown's apex. Diadem ribbons and hair ribbons extend from the crown and flow upward at their ends, while a single-strand bead necklace encircles the neck. Two ribbons fall from the right shoulder with their ends turned upward, and the bust is contained within a single beaded border. A Pahlavi legend surrounds the portrait in the field. |
