Obverse description Radiate head of Helios facing three-quarters right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with characteristic boldly spread sun rays fanning outward from the crown of the head. The deity's curling hair falls naturalistically along the neck and temples, the facial features executed with expressive detail including a slightly parted mouth and strong profile. The smooth field surrounds the effigy without inscription, consistent with standard Rhodian plintophoric drachm typology. The modelling of the face and radiate crown is confident and of high artistic quality, reflecting the accomplished die-cutting tradition of the Rhodian mint.
