Obverse description Diademed bust of Phraates II facing left, depicted with a short beard and wearing a single-turn torque at the neck, characteristic of early Parthian royal portraiture. The diadem ends are visible behind the head. The effigy is rendered in the Hellenistic artistic tradition, with fine detail to the facial features and hair. A beaded or dotted border encircles the design within the coin's field.
