| Obverse description | Diademed bust of Phraates II facing left, wearing a close-fitting bashlyk-style helmet with distinctly ridged surface and a diadem with flowing ends visible behind the neck. The king is depicted with a short, curled beard and moustache rendered in fine detail, with a torque visible at the base of the neck. The portrait is executed in the Hellenistic artistic tradition, with a dotted border encircling the field. |
