Reverse description A fully open rose bloom with stem and bud to the right, the emblematic device of Rhodes, accompanied by a thyrsos to the left. The magistrate's name appears in Greek legend above the rose, with the ethnic abbreviation flanking the central device. The entire composition is contained within a deep incuse square border, a defining characteristic of the Rhodian plintophoric series introduced following the Peace of Apamea in 188 BC.
