Obverse description Radiate head of Helios facing three-quarters right, rendered in fine high relief characteristic of Rhodian coinage. The solar deity is depicted as a youthful male with wavy hair swept back, surmounted by a prominent radiate crown of straight rays emanating symmetrically from the head. The facial features are idealized and finely modelled, with a straight nose, slightly parted lips, and a strong jaw. The field is plain, with no legend. The style reflects the accomplished die-engraving tradition of the Rhodian mint during the plintophoric period.
