| Beschrijving keerzijde | The Parthian archer, wearing a bashlyk (soft cap) and Parthian dress, seated right on an omphalos, holding a strung bow in the outstretched right hand. A Greek legend surrounds the central device, reading ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΑΡΣΑΚΟΥ ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ in the customary arrangement for this issue type. The composition follows the standard Arsacid reverse design established at the Ecbatana mint. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Mithridates II ruled the Parthian Empire at its greatest territorial extent, recovering Mesopotamia from the Seleucids and receiving diplomatic embassies from both Rome and Han China — the latter marking one of the earliest direct contacts between the Parthian state and the Far East along what would become the Silk Road. The Ecbatana mint, situated in Media, was among the most productive of the Parthian mints and operated continuously through successive reigns.
Sellwood 24.30 falls within the early typology of his reign, before the style shifts visible in later issues. The diadem arrangement distinguishes sub-types within this group, and Sunrise 288 represents a well-documented die pairing.
