Obverse description Draped bust of Mithridates I facing left, wearing the bashlik, a soft conical helmet-like headdress with ear flaps and neck guard characteristic of early Parthian royal portraiture. The effigy is rendered in a Hellenistic artistic tradition, with fine die-engraved detail in the facial features and drapery visible on well-preserved specimens. The field surrounding the bust is plain.
