| Obverse description | Diademed head of the deified Alexander III (the Great) facing right, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait style, with the characteristic horn of Ammon curling above and around his right ear, signifying divine descent from Zeus-Ammon. The diadem is depicted with delicate fillet ends visible at the neck.
