The effigy is rendered in the bold, high-relief style characteristic of late Classical Ionian coinage, with finely articulated musculature at the neck and a resolute facial expression. The field is plain and unlettered, with no exergue line. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Within a circular wreath of vine leaves and bunches of grapes, the Heraklean attributes of a knotted club set vertically to the left and a strung bow in its case to the right are displayed side by side. The magistrate's name ΗΡΟΔΩΡΟΣ and his patronymic ΔΙΟΝΥΣΙΟΥ are inscribed in two vertical columns flanking the club, while the civic ethnic EPY appears to the left. The entire composition is enclosed within the vine wreath border, referencing the Dionysiac cult connections of the city of Erythrai. |
