| Obverse description | Facing head of Helios rendered in three-quarter view turned slightly to the right, depicted in the characteristic Rhodian style with radiate, wavy hair swept back from the forehead and flowing in voluminous locks around the face. The modelling is confident and naturalistic, with well-defined facial features including heavy-lidded eyes, a straight nose, and full lips. No legend appears in the field, the composition being devoted entirely to the imposing solar deity who served as the divine patron of Rhodes. |
