| Beschrijving keerzijde | A Zoroastrian fire altar with ribbons depicted centrally, flanked symmetrically by two standing attendants facing the altar in a devotional posture, a standard motif on Sasanian royal coinage. A divine bust emerges from the flames atop the altar, a characteristic iconographic feature associated with Bahram IV's coinage. On the shaft of the altar, traces of a mint inscription in Pahlavi read 'hlydy', interpreted as 'Har(w)', identifying the mint as Herat. The composition is executed in the typical schematic Sasanian reverse style, with the fire altar serving as the central religious and dynastic symbol. |
