Obverse description Bust of Artabanus I facing left, depicted with a short, neatly rendered beard and flowing hair arranged in multiple horizontal waves beneath a distinctive Parthian tiara or bashlyk headdress decorated with a beaded diadem. The king is draped in a torque-adorned garment with dotted ornamental detail visible at the neckline, rendered in the Hellenistic artistic tradition adapted to Parthian royal iconography. The portrait is executed in medium relief with characteristic stylization of the hair and beard. The field is plain, with a plain beaded border encircling the design.
