| Obverse description | Radiate head of Helios facing three-quarters right, rendered in the characteristic Rhodian style with deeply engraved radiating hair locks fanning outward from the crown in a striking sunburst arrangement. The god's facial features are finely modelled with a slightly parted mouth, almond-shaped eye, and softly draped locks curling behind the ear. The portrait is set against a plain field with no legend, consistent with the plintophoric series of Rhodes. The die work displays confident engraving typical of the mature Hellenistic Rhodian workshop. |
