Obverse description Radiate head of Helios facing three-quarters right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with characteristic sun-rays emanating from the crown of the head. The facial features are finely modeled with a youthful countenance, prominent brow, and naturalistic hair swept across the temples. The effigy displays the characteristic artistic conventions of Rhodian coinage, with the god's identity unmistakably conveyed through the solar radiate crown. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hammered issues of this period.
