Reverse description A fully open rose with detailed petals occupies the central field, with a single budding stem extending to the right — the civic emblem of Rhodes and a punning device on the island's name. The magistrate's name ΑΓΑΘΑΡΧΟΣ is inscribed above the rose in Greek letters, while a trident symbol appears in the left field as a secondary control mark. The entire design is set within a shallow incuse square (plinthophoron), characteristic of the Rhodian plintophoric drachm series. The ethnic abbreviation P O flanks the rose below the legend.
