| Beschrijving voorzijde | Janiform head, jugate and facing in opposite directions: on the right, a laureate male head facing right, and on the left, a female head facing left, her hair arranged in a sakkos and adorned with a earring visible at the lobe. The double-headed type is the distinctive emblem of Tenedos, referencing the mythological tradition of the island. The facial features are rendered in a refined late Classical style, with careful attention to the hair and physiognomy of both figures. |
