Obverse description Crowned facing bust of King Juan II occupying the central field, rendered in the crude, flat style typical of late medieval Majorcan billon coinage. The crown is depicted with prominent fleurs or points above the royal head. A beaded inner circle surrounds the bust, separating it from the peripheral Latin legend. The overall die-work reflects the hand-struck, irregular character of hammered medieval production.
