| 背面描述 | Central field displays a bold Arabic inscription within an octagonal or square cartouche, with the AH mint date 1212 prominently rendered below the main legend. The mint name (Asfi) appears within or adjacent to the cartouche in characteristic Maghribi calligraphic style. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hammered silver production. The design is spare and epigraphic in character, devoid of figurative ornament. |

Moulay Sulayman's second standard dirham marked a deliberate redenomination effort following years of monetary instability under his predecessor Moulay Yazid, whose brief and violent reign left Moroccan coinage in disarray. The Asfi (Safi) mint was one of several coastal facilities operating under the Alaoui sultanate, though its output was modest compared to Fes or Marrakesh. The second standard designation reflects a weight reform — the first standard issues were recalled and restruck as Sulayman consolidated fiscal control after taking power in 1792.
