| 背面描述 | Central field displays a multi-line Arabic inscription within a square cartouche, typical of Abbasid coinage of the period of Caliph al-Muqtadir (295–320 AH). The legend references the shahada and the Caliph's name. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs around the perimeter within a double circular border. The die-engraving is consistent with the donative type, lacking a mintname in the marginal inscription. The coin exhibits characteristic irregular flan shape and uneven strike common to hammered silver dirhams of the early 10th century. |

Al-Muqtadir's reign was among the most turbulent of the late Abbasid period — he was deposed twice, briefly, before his final death in battle against his own troops in 932. Donative dirhams of this type were struck not for general commerce but for ceremonial distribution, most likely during court festivals such as Nawruz or military payment occasions. The absence of a mint name is deliberate, not an omission; such pieces were issued directly under caliphal authority and needed no geographic attribution.
Weight on these donatives often runs slightly light against standard coinage, a pattern consistent across the type.
