Obverse description Central pictorial device depicting two fishes, symbolic emblem of the city of Aden, enclosed within a double circular border. The central device is surrounded by two concentric bands of Arabic legend in Naskh script, the inner and outer inscriptions separated by a circular fillet. The overall design reflects the distinctive Rasulid aesthetic combining calligraphic and figurative motifs characteristic of medieval Yemeni coinage.
