Obverse description Bust of Wahram IV facing right, wearing an elaborate Sasanian crown surmounted by a globe finial and adorned with animal-head projections, with ribbons or diadem ties visible behind. The king's hair is rendered in voluminous curls falling to the shoulder, and a beaded necklace is depicted at the lower neck. Inscriptional Pahlavi legends appear in the field to the left and right of the royal effigy, enclosed within a beaded border. The portrait follows the canonical Sasanian hammered gold coinage tradition, with bold, high-relief die work characteristic of late fourth-century court workshops.
