Ardashir II's reign lasted just four years before he was deposed by the nobility — likely forcibly blinded, per later sources — and replaced by Shapur III. The abbreviated rule means the total emission of his coinage was sharply limited, and the Type I/2 classification in Göbl's system distinguishes an early die pairing within that already restricted output. These are not common coins by any measure.
