Obverse description Typical Abbasid hammered gold dinar with an irregular flan exhibiting a slightly uneven strike consistent with hand-hammering. The obverse field is dominated by three horizontal lines of bold Kufic Arabic script arranged within a central rectangular text panel, proclaiming the shahada and the mint and date formula. A marginal circular legend in Kufic script encircles the central field, with decorative pellets or short strokes separating the inscription segments. The overall design is purely epigraphic, with no figural imagery, in accordance with Islamic numismatic convention.
