| Obverse description | Central field occupied by five lines of Arabic religious legend in angular Kufic script, arranged horizontally within a plain inner border. The central inscription is encircled by a broad intermediate annular band bearing additional Arabic legends in Kufic, itself framed by inner and outer linear borders. A wide outer margin displays further continuous Arabic inscriptions in Kufic, characteristic of the donative type with its expansive marginal field. The overall design is aniconic, consistent with Abbasid epigraphic coinage tradition. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, with well-struck lettering throughout. |
