| Obverse description | Facing three-quarter bust of Helios, the sun god and patron deity of Rhodes, rendered in high relief with characteristic radiate crown, the sunrays depicted as short, straight projections emanating from the right side of the head. The hair falls in thick, wavy locks framing the youthful, idealised face. The composition is centred within a plain field with no legend, consistent with Rhodian didrachm coinage of the early second century BC. |
