The broad, deeply modeled face turns slightly to the right, with the rays of the solar crown clearly delineated in the field. The workmanship is of high quality, consistent with the accomplished die-engraving tradition of the Rhodian mint. |

The entire design is enclosed within a border of pellets. The rose, the civic emblem of Rhodes, is rendered with bold, naturalistic petals in the high-relief Hellenistic manner. |
