Demetrios II was struck down by Alexander Zebinas in 125 BC, but this coin dates to his second reign — he had already survived Parthian captivity once, escaping in 129 BC only to face renewed civil war in Syria. The Damascus and Tyre mints were both active during this chaotic interval, and attribution between the two for this specific type remains contested in the literature, with Houghton and Lorber declining to make a firm assignment in SC2.
