Pelinna was a minor Thessalian polis in the Histiaeotis region, and its bronze coinage is sparse enough that die links between surviving specimens have been charted in the BCD collection — one of the few systematic attempts to map the series. The city's output almost certainly contracted after the Macedonian consolidation of Thessaly under Philip II, which subordinated local minting authority across the region. Most surviving dichalka from Pelinna show heavy circulation wear, suggesting genuine everyday use rather than hoarding.
