Spytihněv II ruled Bohemia from 1055 until his death in 1061, a reign notable for his expulsion of all German clergy from the country in 1055 — a dramatic assertion of Přemyslid independence from the Holy Roman Empire that created immediate ecclesiastical disorder. Coinage from his reign is accordingly sparse, and Cach 330 is among the scarcer documented types.
