| Reverse description | A plain cross with arms extending to the beaded inner circle, dividing the field into four quadrants. The cross is rendered in the simple, bold style typical of early Capetian hammered billon coinage. A circular Latin legend identifying the mint city of Orleans runs around the periphery between the inner beaded circle and the outer edge of the flan. The flan is notably irregular in shape and shows characteristic die-striking irregularities of the period. |
