Reverse description A plain Greek cross with equal arms occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross extends nearly to the inner beaded border, dividing the central area into four equal quadrants. A circular Latin legend naming the king and the mint of Etampes runs between the inner beaded circle and the outer rim. The flan is irregular, consistent with the hammered production methods of the period.
