Reverse description Central field displays a plain Greek cross with slightly splayed terminals, standing within a prominent inner beaded circle that separates it from the surrounding legend. The cross divides the inner field into four equal quadrants, each left plain, in the Carolingian tradition inherited from Pepin and Charlemagne. A circular Latin legend reading +PARISII CIVITAS (City of Paris) runs around the outer field between the beaded circle and the irregular coin edge, with a cross pommée at the beginning of the inscription. The overall design is austere and functional, consistent with the Type 1 Parisian denier of Odo's reign.
