| Beschrijving keerzijde | A plain long cross with equal arms divides the central field into four quarters, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross extends to the inner border and is rendered in bold relief typical of Carolingian hammered coinage. The surrounding circular legend reads DVNIS CASTELLΙ (Chateaudun), denoting the mint of issue, composed in capital Latin uncial letterforms. The outer border is defined by a dentilated or beaded rim consistent with the irregular flan characteristic of this series. |
