Obverse description Central field features a Carolingian monogram formed by interlaced letters, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The monogram is rendered in the typical Carolingian epigraphic style, with the vertical and horizontal strokes intersecting prominently at center. A cross pattée appears in the left field. The surrounding legend, separated by cross stops, reads ODO IR REX GRATIA D-I (Odo, king by the grace of God), disposed around the outer border in capital Latin uncial letters characteristic of late 9th-century Frankish coinage.
