Obverse description Draped bust of King Philip IV facing right, rendered in a crude, provincial style characteristic of emergency coinage. The effigy is confined between an inner solid circle and an outer beaded border. A Latin legend in abbreviated form surrounds the portrait, reading in part LVDV · D · G · R · FRANCI, introduced by a cross pattée. The engraving reflects the limited technical resources available during the wartime issue of 1642.

Reverse description The civic coat of arms of Vic occupies the central field, struck in a rough hammered style typical of Catalan siege and emergency coinage of the period. The shield device is enclosed between an inner solid circle and an outer beaded border. A Latin legend surrounds the design, incorporating the mint city name and date, reading CIVITAS · VICEN · 1642 ·, introduced by a cross pattée. The overall execution is irregular, consistent with the improvised production methods employed during the Reapers' War.
