Reverse description A stylized frontal depiction of a castle or fortified tower occupies the central field, rendered in a schematic Romanesque style with a cross surmounting the structure. The architectural motif is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend STANPIS CASTELLVN distributed around the periphery, referencing the château of Étampes. The flan is irregular with slightly ragged edges consistent with hand-hammered production of the period.
