Reverse description Central field displays a plain cross pattée with slightly flared arms, set within a beaded inner circle. The four quarters of the cross are unadorned, reflecting the simple architectural character of Capetian feudal coinage. The surrounding legend * LANDONIS CASTA, abbreviated form of Castellum Landonense (Château-Landon), appears between the inner beaded circle and an outer border of triangular pellet ornaments matching the obverse. The strike is typical of hammered medieval production, with some flatness and flan irregularity.
